New management seems to keep staffing even tighter; on my last visit there was a rather disinterested employee behind the concession counter and that's it. No one to check tickets. No one to keep people from sitting at the door.
So, each screen is not stadium seating. Also, due to their size and lack of sound baffling at the door, you quickly can become distracted by disturbances at the door of the theater, made worse by them sticking open; who wants to hear someone's loud argument just outside of the theater during a movie you probably paid a not insignificant amount of money for, on top of the expensive candy?
Absolute worst theater in New York, if not the country. Here is why:
It smells like wet mold.
Nice small town theater. Small size and limited movies.
It's a great movie theatre with 3d and common movies
This is a small theater by choice (of the town) I presume. With that choice comes the usual quirks that you may or may not enjoy;
The seats are uncomfortable and falling apart.
Now that all be over looked, however I saw the way this horrid (manager?) treated one her employees. Didn't catch her name but she was short and quite large. Anyway, she was absolutely rotten to this kid who was just trying to do his job as far as I could tell. If you value the way a company treats their employees than I would suggest you not go anywhere near this awful establishment. If you want a comfortable seat, good popcorn and a clear picture, don't go here. No movie is worth the horrid experience we had here.
The popcorn was burnt and stale.
Otherwise the theater is pretty clean and functional.
While other theaters have upgraded their seats, screens and concession, this one remains disgustingly outdated.
Climate control isn't always working, and they're usually understaffed. You might wait for your tickets behind lots of food orders, so I suggest using the kiosk. But what can we do? It's the closest theater...
